LowellArts! Holiday Market: A Unique Shopping Destination for the Holidays Featuring Handmade Gifts by Over 40 Area Artists

The +LowellArts! King Gallery has been transformed into a unique shopping destination for the holidays. Featuring works by over 40 area artisans, the annual LowellArts! Holiday Market is open November 13 and continues through December 23.

Handmade gift items include: basketry, bead work, beeswax candles, glass work, jewelry, metal work, ornaments, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, soap, textiles, and wood working. This is a juried show, with participating artists from around the region.

On November 13 from 6-8pm, the public is invited to a Meet-the-Artist Reception. LowellArts! Members will receive 10% off their purchases at the event. The event is free and guests can enjoy refreshments and a festive holiday atmosphere.

Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-6pm from November 13-December 23. The LowellArts! King Gallery is located near Mainstreet of downtown Lowell at 149 South Hudson Street, Lowell, MI 49331.

The LowellArts! Holiday Market will be open extended hours during the Christmas Through Lowell event where over 50 homes, churches, and business in Lowell will open their doors to display the wares of over 300 artists and crafters. LowellArts! is one of the destinations during this unique, 3-day, holiday celebration. Hours during Christmas Through Lowell are: Friday, November 14 from 9am-9pm, Saturday, November 15 from 9am-7pm, and Sunday, November 16 from 11am-5pm.

Several LowellArts! Holiday Market artists will be offering demonstrations at special times during the month-long show: Sunday, November 16 from 11am-5pm jewelry artist Cindy Allen will be on-site demonstrating how she makes her one-of-a-kind vintage button rings, which will also be for sale. Saturday, December 6 from 12-6pm, Diann Bartnick Borton will demonstrate her Mosaic work. Saturday, December 13 from 12-6pm Cindy Allen will be back, this time helping visitors create their own Wishing Bracelets. The bracelets take 20-30 minutes to make, and are $2 for materials. Saturday, December 20 from 12-6pm jewelry artist Skylar Brez will demonstrate the basics of needle felting, taking a small piece of felt and embellishing it with roving, yarn, silk thread and beads to make a brooch.

LowellArts! has been connecting regional artists and audiences through visual and performing arts in the greater Lowell community since 1977. Annual programming includes - The Lowell Showboat Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series with 10 live outdoor concerts on the Flat River Thursday nights throughout the summer. The Fallasburg Fall Festival for the Arts outdoor 2-day art fair showcasing the works of over 100 artists with over 25,000 attendees.
